What is BizFit?
Bizfit Personal Training is located in the heart of the Berkshires in Great Barrington, MA. Owned and operated by Mike Bissaillon, a life long Berkshire native, Bizfit opened its doors in September of 2006. Mike has been a Personal Trainer for 16 years and has worked at Berkshire West (3 years) and Lenox Fitness (13 years) prior to opening his own facility in Great Barrington.
He attended the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, has taken additional courses in Anatomy as well as Exercise Physiology, has received certification as a trainer through ACE (American Council on Exercise), NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine), AOS (Art of Strength) and the Paul Chek Institute of Golf Biomechanics.
Mike's love of sports and exercise in combination with his training experience and understanding of how to work with a variety of clients set him apart from other Personal Trainers. Mike has developed a system of training (The Bizfit System) that is highly effective for the people he serves on a daily basis.
The Bizfit System of Training focuses on movement of the entire body. Training all of the body's systems at once rather than isolating individual muscles is designed to work for the elite athlete as well as the retired business man or the soccer mom. Training the body in the way it was designed to move helps to increase strength, flexibility, joint mobility, balance and coordination and decrease pain. It also promotes fat loss, develops lean muscle and contributes to an overall feeling of well being.
Mike offers a variety of training options including one on one (best for beginners or people who prefer individual attention), semi private (best for people with more exercise experience and/or people who want to reduce cost) as well as classes (best for those who like to workout in a group). He also offers fitness seminars 3-4 times per year that bring in special instructors who are on the cutting edge of their field to keep his clients up to date on all of the new information that is out there.
Mike also works with sports teams to help coaches and players maximize their time together, decrease the young players' risk of injury and improve individual and team performance.
Mike uses many different tools to help his clients meet their goals and offers each person an individualized plan to help get them there.
Dumbbells, Swiss balls, bands and pulleys, balance tools, rings, kettle bells, plyo boxes and body weight are just some of the tools used at Bizfit. Variety and individual attention are two very important components of making fitness engaging for people - So engaging in fact, that Mike is still working with clients that he began training at the beginning of his career as a Personal Trainer.
One example is a 71 year old man who began training with Mike after having both knees replaced. Thirteen years later, he is still training with Mike and enjoys an extremely active life, including regular fly fishing, golfing and hiking all over the world. Another success story involves a 41 year old woman who Mike has worked with for 4 years who came to him with little to no exercise experience.
Today, she has lost weight, become lean and toned and is now exercising 4-5 times per week. One more success story is a 46 year old business man who came to Mike out of shape with aches and pains.
He continues to be committed to his fitness program 7 years later and is now an avid bicyclist and alpine skier. He is virtually pain free and receives many comments and compliments about his physique and athletic abilities. The Bizfit System is a proven system for clients of any age and ability. For young athletes it will increase strength, ability and improve focus in any sport or activity they are involved with. For middle aged clients, the Bizfit System will turn back the clock and help clients feel as good as or better than they did in their 20's.
Older clients will improve their quality of life and approach daily living activities without assistance all while increasing energy and strength. It is the goal of Bizfit Personal Training to get as many people as possible to join "The Bizfit Nation" and become a part of the success that his current clients experience through improved levels of fitness in their lives every day.
